Colour

Fashion moves on so quickly and because we are encouraged to experiment and be brave with colours it may seem a little out of date to suggest having your colours done but this is a really useful exercise that helps you discover what shades work for you.

Find out what shades will work best for you based on your own colourings

If you have dark skin and dark hair

Choose bright shades rather than pastels. Hot pink and orange are great choices for this winter. This season's metallic trend is made for you! Just stick to shades of bronze and gold for flattering fashion!

If you have dark skin and light coloured hair

Choose warm tones of red and orange. Neutral earthy tones will suit you down to the ground - avoid lots of black.

If you have fair skin and dark hair

Bright shades of red and pink work well on you. Royal blue and emerald green will make an impact but avoid white and pastel shades as they will wash you out.

If you have fair skin and light coloured hair

Cooler colours work well on you; blues, greens and soft grey are good options for this autumn/winter. Muted shades are an obvious choice, but don't be afraid of trying stronger colours - jewel colours look great for a Christmas party or evening out. Silver is a fantastic way of working this season's metallic trend into your wardrobe.

A lot on your plate?

Green is the colour to wear if you feel like you're juggling too much, as it has a balancing effect.

Need a lift?
